Why work for an NGO ?
- Do something about something you really believe in
- Be an activist and do something, unlike politicians, activists act in order to change the situation about something
- Be part of a group with similar interests. Groups are a great resource for moral and financial support.
- Be prepared to share, egos have to suppressed when working in NGOs. Everybody is working for the same aim.
Speculative Applications or unsolicited application to NGOs
Around one third of all jobs in NGOs for graduates are never published. Unsolicited applications get more attention if they are addressed to a particular person. Do you research on the NGO before sending in your application.
